Your room

Messages, appointments, whiteboards and your data are all in one place. How to find your way around your room.

Getting into your room

Tap “Sign in” at the top right and enter your pseudonym and password. If you have one room, you go straight there. If you have several, for example with two counsellors, you first see “Your rooms”. A small marker there shows where new messages are waiting.

You can always get back via “My room” at the top. How you get a room in the first place is explained under Book, write or wait.

Messages

In the “Messages” box you write with your counsellor whenever it suits you. Type your text in the field and tap “Send”. On a computer you can also press Ctrl and Enter, on a Mac Cmd and Enter.

New replies appear by themselves. You do not need to reload the page. Under your last message it says “read” as soon as it has been read. Under the input field it shows who is reading along in the room. If a colleague from the same centre is also counselling you, their name appears at the top of your room too. Each message shows who wrote it. If a text is very long, split it into several messages.

Appointments

In the “Appointments” box you see your next appointment with its date, type and length. For an appointment in person, the place is shown too. Below that you find:

  • “Go to appointment”: For a video appointment, this takes you into the session. More on this under The video session.
  • “Add to my calendar”: This downloads a calendar file. It contains no names and no content, only the appointment and the link to your room.
  • “Cancel appointment”: This cancels the appointment, until it starts. If it has already started, write a short message in the room if you cannot come.

Your counsellor adds follow-up sessions, usually at the end of a session. If no appointment is planned right now, it says “Find an appointment”. With that you book a free time yourself on the counsellor profile. If you have already had a session, this is a follow-up session. Further and past appointments are listed below, each with its status, such as “booked”, “cancelled” or “over”.

If a fee applies in your room, the “Outstanding payments” box appears after a session. More on this under What counselling costs.

Whiteboards and stamp card

After a video appointment, your whiteboard is kept under “Your whiteboards” if there is anything on it. You download it as “Image (PNG)” or as “PDF”. It can no longer be changed after that.

“Your stamp card” gets a stamp for every session that has taken place. It counts across all your counsellors and has ten spaces.

Your data

In the “Your data” box, “Download messages” downloads everything as a text file: your appointments and all messages. Keep the file safe, because everything in it is in plain text.

Next to it is the way to “Account and security”. There you change your password, add an email address or delete your account. More on this under Account and security.

In the room with you

If a second person has their own access to your room, it says “In the room with you:” at the top, followed by their pseudonym. Each message then shows who wrote it. How this works is explained under Counselling for two.

Sometimes the counsellor changes, for example because they leave the centre. A colleague from the same counselling centre then takes over. A note at the top of the room tells you since when. All your messages stay. Upcoming appointments are dropped. You find a new one with “Find an appointment”.

When the counselling has ended

When your counsellor closes the counselling, it says “The counselling has ended.” at the top. Upcoming appointments are then cancelled. Until a date shown there, you can still read and download your messages. You can no longer write. After that the room is closed to you. When it will be deleted is shown there too.

If you want to get in touch again, book a new appointment or write again via the counsellor profile. If the room has not yet been deleted, it then opens again.
